Every page sparks your imagination and gives you tools for building or running medieval adventures, intrigues, dungeons, sieges, you name it. As a kid I couldn’t get enough of these and the DK books. Peak visual information design.

Stephen Biesty’s Cross-Sections Castle has gotta be one of the most beloved non-RPG RPG books on my shelf.

Fast and gripping read with some real horrifying horror. Dialogue sings and the prose is tight as hell. Would recommend to everyone. Great audiobook companion too; Peter Jay Fernandez seems to have a practiced handle on the Jamaican accents and dialect.

Just finished Brown Girl in the Ring by Nalo Hopkinson, which I was checking out for the new @rangedtouch.bsky.social Shelved by Genre unit. Truly excellent. It’s a lightly sci-fi near-future story of post-collapse Toronto and a family tied to the Caribbean supernatural—Loa, duppies, and all.

I won’t be the first to point out that @itch.io’s reactionary new content guidelines ban the Bible and most formative religious or classical texts, not to mention a massive swath of the modern literary canon.

- No games about historical royal families.
- Only sanitized games about trauma.
- No horny anthros, to ANY degree.

Etching this upon a cave wall to mark this moment on the internet for future post-collapse generations to ponder. No explanations, no definitions, they’re on their own to find a Rosetta Stone.

Every time I see a post about this game I internally go “what Dark Souls 2 did *you* play?” before my brain makes the appropriate adjustment.

Yeah, I keep trying to express my feelings on the issue and it's way longer than a single skeet. Itch are simultaneously not the originators of this problem, they had literally no choice...

But also there's no denying they absolutely fumbled the ball in how they dealt with it.

I just sent my own complaint letter to Visa. Can’t say what good it will do, but it only takes a few seconds to speak up against this growing regime of artistic censorship.
