All of this is a pefect example of not playing to the audience. You use the most visually correct, effect presentation style, not what some dork in branding wants.

27.09.2025 04:41 β π 15 π 5 π¬ 0 π 1Agreed. I got to contribute to a volume on Vavilov, mostly about his genetic findings. It was coordinated by Dr. Jules Janick from Purdue, and I"m grateful to have had the chance o record him back in 2015 or so on the Talking Biotech Podcast podcasts.apple.com/it/podcast/t...

27.09.2025 01:03 β π 5 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0Absolutely. Vavilov was one of the greatest scientists of the time and Lysenko was his student at one point. I can't judge intent at this point, but my guess is that there was some political expedience in Lysenko's decisions.

Stalin appointed a pseudoscientist to a post with profound influence on public science policy. Under Lysenko, millions died.
Trump appointed a pseudoscientist to a post with profound influence on public science policy. That outcome might be the same. skepticalinquirer.org/exclusive/th...
It is always projection. The folks reliant on financial support from invested interests are the ones that scream "shill" about independent voices that simply want to help the public get it right.

20.09.2025 19:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hard to say. Glyphosate is a foliar herbicide with poor root uptake. If applied to the leaves it would certainly kill a houseplant. But applied to the roots-- not at label concentration. At high concentration it does work via roots, but you have to give them a good dose.
