When I engage with this idea I mostly freak out, and then kind of shut down. If this is true, what does one person not working at the top of an AI company or government do about this? π±ππ€·
I've only come up with two reasonable things so far (but I'm open to hearing other ideas tooπ):

If it's true, then AI taking over our jobs (which I'm already seeing a lot as a programmer) is not nearly as big a concern as what comes after that. What's doubly frightening is the timeframe in the article (less than a decade!) but they thought they put into makes it still seem plausible.

I don't often post, but I feel like the AI 2027 idea below needs a signal boost. Essentially it's a prediction about where AI research will take the world and as a warning it has personally freaked me out.
