A lightbulb goes in WWX's head. After the party, when everyone else leaves, he's gonna kiss LWJ.

He's gonna hold his best friend in his arms and kiss the daylights out of him.

It's the best birthday party ever.

He saves the pretties part of the cake, with the cake topper, for LWJ. Jiejie even included cute letters spelling WWX's name, so obviously that parts belongs to Lan Zha

His friend smiles his little secret smile at him and smudges a tiny bit of frosting on the tip of WWX's nose

When he blows the candles, he can't even wish for anything else than this. The people dearest to his heart, celebrating another year with him.

When he cuts the cake, his hands tremble. He never got to do this before.

It's just cake, but it's the most delicious thing ever.

WWX cries when he arrives and everyone shouts 'SURPRISE' at him. Then he goes all around, laughing and joking, delighted at this special moment.

And he keeps looking at LWJ, his best friend who knows him so well and treats him better than anyone else.

There is an extravagant, over-the-top cake, made by JYL herself. There are a lot of party favors, plastered with WWX's favorite characters.

Everyone is in good humour, happy to do this for a friend, but also it's all very nostalgic and sweet so everyone has a lot of fun.

It isn't until a decade later that LWJ understands why WWX never had a birthday party. And he also realizes that WWX had secretly yearned for all of it.

So LWJ organizes an old school surprise party, everything decorated in the style of WWX's favorite childhood cartoon.

LWJ always remembered, and always got him something special. His gifts were thoughtful and planned months in advance.

As he himself didn't like parties, he assumed WWX never wanted one either. It seemed on brand for him to focus on Halloween, his birthday an afterthought.

WWX was fine with it.

By then, he could pretend any random Halloween party was a birthday party. He had many friends, and some even remembered to bring him a small gift. A cake could be made out of some decorated donuts.

A party is just what you make of it, you know?

When they were kids, JC would hug him and say his own party could be for both of them.

As teens, their relationship slowly deteriorated and Auntie Yu's influence permeated more and more. JC was less and less gracious each year until he decided to celebrate just for himself.

Jiejie always made sure to ask for things that her little brothers would enjoy in her parties, even if was too childish for an older girl and her cohorts.

She saved the best part of the cake for them, gave extra candy to little Xianxian.

The big parties, with thematic decorations and all the bells and whistles, were for his siblings.

They had inflatable games and a themed menu, performers of all kinds and lots of party favors, and a huge, elaborate cake each year (made especially for the occasion).

WWX was taken in but when it came to his birthdays, he never got a party.

He got a small generic cake and his siblings singing a birthday song to him. He got some gifts from friends, even received some cards at school.

For a naughty addendum: Imagine if LWJ is a sexy ghost underneath the white sheet, wearing the most enticing tights and garter set.

WWX won't discover that until much later, though 🤭

LWJ would love the sheet + sunglasses ghost trend of 2023. Simple, white, no need to show his face.

WWX, with 7 costume changes planned for the night, is like "Lan Zhan's costume is the funniest I've ever seen!"

Thinking of WWX preparing his Halloween costumes (plural) weeks in advance, making sure everything looks perfect (either very lifelike, disgusting and/or funny).

Meanwhile LWJ dressed in white as usual but with fake rabbit ears and painted-on whiskers.

MXY trying to decide if he wants to go with something funny, a super ubique conceptual piece or something really, really scary. Something based on a movie or a unique creation just for him? Oh, so many options!

What if Wangxian adopt MXY and they obviously love spooky season because WWX is a certified Halloween Boy™, but MXY has never gone trick r treating/wore a Halloween costume, so now Wangxian spend the month leading up to Halloween helping him make his own first costume? 🥺

WWX's partner breaks up with him because they got a crush on LWJ when they saw him at a party, so WWX copes by chatting with everyone at the party and teasing LWJ, which ends up with Wangxian getting married soon after.

WWX who loves to watch horror films because he loves spooky, creepy and scary things, but he always ends up crying because the ghost had a sad backstory or something like that. My boy has a lot of empathy for the dead 🥺

Recently, I had to go no-contact with a family member and it's sad that it means also cutting down on contact with other people I care about, but it was necessary.

I'm fine for the most part but sometimes I want to share something with someone and I remember that now it's more complicated.

All this to say, I need my boy WWX to execute an old-school heist against the Jins, basically walking up to the building and fooling everyone in the most audacious way.

He's also great at stealth and tech but this time it was not necessary, he just needed a silly plan.

I tend to be wary of crime AUs because I simply can't get into the whole fiction crime aesthetic that most (usually white) folks cook up.

My one exception is heist AUs. My boy WWX was made for them. He's smart, chaotic and morally against art-hoarding millionaires.

Another addendum: WWX is joking but also he's a romantic at heart and likes missionary, ok? He has cultivated this wild reputation but in the end he just wants to hold someone close and make love softly and sweetly.

He didn't count on LWJ being horny about his brain!

As an addendum, I think LWJ has heard WWX talk about that kind of thing during lectures or something, and even then he thought it was sexy.

So he definitely would love to hear WWX speak passionately about whatever subject in all kinds of positions, but missionary to start is ok
