This was a packed Hillsboro City Council meeting — at least 3 hours long. Residents demand: stop ICE collab, aid for immigrant families, end Flock surveillance, and hold police accountable.

This community, about 30 minutes west of Portland, is living in fear!

I, too, was dismayed at the sparsity of youthful faces at the protests I attended. Where are all the college students?? We old folks are on the way out. Their lives will be much more impacted than ours. Can’t they see the urgency?? Have we failed in teaching them?

I will call out anyone who makes generalisations about ‘boomers’ and their affiliation to the Right. We were the generation at the vanguard of the fight against racism, sexism, protested against Vietnam. There are multitudes of us who still hold those views and are horrified by what is happening

I personally know several Iowans who have gotten COVID in the past month.
But if you're under age 65 and don't have an underlying condition, hard to get a COVID booster here. Our governor is doing nothing to help people protect themselves or their families.
