Hard thing #492 is figuring out how to talk about the book I've written without sounding like a shill every second of the day. I want people to read it, that's all. It's also hard to get an ebook version in the hands of people who want it because ecommerce is stupid. Anyone have any ideas?

Finally got to try an item on my tech wishlist: the Ember mug. The battery drains in under an hour, the power button is super inconsistent, and you need the app to even use the mug (I would expect it for setting temp, but not just turning it on/off). 3 stars. Very disappointing, actually!

I never got the chance to use one, but 2011's Nokia E7 was the most beautiful phone ever made. Just...look at it! It was the macbook air of cellphones, and I don't know if it's ever been topped. From this we also got the N9 and later the Lumia phones, which were all gorgeous, too.

No offense to the artists who make the generic LoFi I typically listen to, but sometimes it feels (maybe literally) AI-generated, and can be numbing when it's all I listen to for weeks. Just as much as good music can shape you for the good, I think generic music can make one forgetful of one's self.
