Gee, it’s almost as if taking away life saving healthcare ends in the death of people that need said healthcare. But the transphobic ghouls that enact these types of policies don’t care. It was never about saving lives or protecting children. ☹️

But the audacious transparency of republicans’ desire to hold power beyond the will of the majority is right out there now. They’re showing themselves to be the vapid fascist party without policies that they are.

Republicans can't win on their policies (or lack thereof). So they're changing the game so they can't be ousted from power.

It completely blows my mind that this man is allowed to be the president of this country. He is literally risking war with our own allies because he has the attitude of a 4 year old that wants a ball that does not belong to him. This is not how a nation should be led. Impeach, convict, prosecute.

A law was passed mandating the Epstein Files be released on Dec 19 2025. That hasn't happened. Every day that passes is another day the administration is breaking the law & another day that justice is being denied.

Sadly though, the next election is a false cure. We are seeing just how broken our system is. But, we are also seeing that the "opposition party" doesn't have the fortitude to make the changes needed to fix the problem. And the people, millions of people, simply embracing the coming fascism. No cure

In a law-abiding United States, just a few years ago, this would be considered Assault, and he would be arrested.

But, we live in a fascist country now, where the "authorities" are drunk on power and control, and seek to subvert the constituency they were sworn to protect and laws to uphold.

The most chilling part of this situation (as has been in the past) is the warm reaction of mainstream media and republicans. A president that arbitrarily and unilaterally wields the military to take over a country is a clear and present danger. Media & congress are failing in holding him culpable.

I've heard the "this is just a difference of opinion" line as well.

My response to that has been "No, this is a definition of personal character and base moral structure".

Good choice on cutting the toxicity out.

One party for fascism/authoritarianism.

Democrats gave up their leverage, their support...for a promise to hold a vote on ACA subsidies that will never pass. They're voting to make healthcare unaffordable for 24+ million Americans. Whatever political capital they had, they just lost. This is why we can't have nice things.

Done!! I can't believe (okay, yea, I can believe that they folded after the elections and got what they wanted, and threw 24 million Americans under the bus for it) that democrats are giving up when they have the momentum and support. Such weak "leadership".

Only reason I can reasonably see that “less people identifying as trans/nb” is due to the extremely hostile environment that republicans are creating and the recent propensity of most democrats to just throw trans people under the bus and ignore that we still exist.

That is kind of not good.

Funny, wasn't Chris Murphy (my senator) that voted to pass the NDAA, even though it was chock full anti-trans amendments, several that impact me directly.

If anything, people should be against AI simply for the amount of energy that's needed to run it. So much power is being dumped into these data centers so people can run stupid/lazy AI queries. And that equates into higher demand for electricity, which means higher prices for everyone.

I have no words to say about Mr. Kirk.

What does concern me are the people that see his death as a rallying cry to commit violence against the LGBT+ community, and liberals in general.

Some of the comment sections are already dripping with murderous rage.

The democrats have already shown us that we are expendable. If it's a shut down or transgender people, they will shove us under the bus in order to maintain the air of "democrats didn't shut down the country and cause an economic meltdown". That's just how the democratic leadership works.

The democratic leadership is stuck in the past, stuck in the status quo, stuck in the “gotta catch em all” mindset. That doesn’t work. With a base of 35%, Trump has all 3 branches of government. Stop trying to appease the fascists, authoritarians and the racists. Come back to your base.

Sometimes I can get into that headspace and spend a good chunk of time just coding and building. But even at the end of that creative time, I still hear the words of my nemesis somewhere in my head.

The struggle is real.
