I still get sad, every time I hear about one of the folks who worked at G&S, still out there hunting for work. It's a small sample of the industry as a whole, but in our case, there was a culture of looking out for one another that just vanished when things ended. So it goes.

Last night I ran my final session as a GM for a live actual play campaign. My first campaign was Eric's TBD RPG in 2016. It's been a wonderful, confusing, uplifting and sobering journey. One day, I plan to write about my experiences in the space. Today though, I'm feeling good and ready to move on.

Thank you to everyone who has joined me at the table and helped me grow and learn as a storyteller. AND who made me look good as a storyteller (when I wasn't really doing all that much)! Really excited to see the stories Aliza is going to tell and for what's next. Time for me to regenerate.

I love running games and I won't be stopping. Stepping back to a smaller role and focusing on writing, acting, anything else, is the next phase and long, long overdue. It's high time to find that right fit and go make things. Thank you, everyone, who has watched me run campaigns live.

Things ebb and flow, and we all do the best we can with what we have. There was no one to be mad at, no one to be bitter with - it's the growing pains of a new medium and it's a worthy endeavor. But I was casting my creative energies into a space that never felt like the right fit as a career.

Truth is, this element to the rise of the ttrpg content creator space, was one of the main sources of my disenchantment. Because Hollywood had inevitably found its way into my sacred past time. An inevitability, once there is the possibility for money to be made and just how things go.

Bitter as that last part might sound, truth is, once I realized this was the mechanism at work, I felt some peace. The reason being is, that is the actors life! That's the landscape I have always gazed across and I knew better than to take it personally. It was business. Right?

And I needed to acknowledge, that the ttrpg space as a whole had no interest in what I offer outside our immediate circle of supporters and fans. The reality of no longer being in a position like I was at G&S, revealed that I was no longer "marketable" among collogues who had praised me. So it goes.
