Did you have a design in mind for main impulse? Because this came to mind. Maybe it should be a touch larger, but you get the idea…

Someone needs to edit that audio back over a clip from the show.

I prefer not to see it as a failing, rather as a pioneering early foray into TV CGI. They gave us realistic designs with rotating sections, bizarre organic alien ships and eventually epic space battles long before that kind of thing was possible even on bigger budget shows.

Yup, that's the one. Many big changes were made between it and S01E01, including replacing several key characters. They also changed the composer, which was the right call but I still have a fondness for the pilot music.

Aha. I still have my DVD box sets, and most of it on iTunes I think.

You don't miss much in terms of story arcs of course. The most significant detail, in hindsight, is probably how the Vorlons were fully prepared to destroy the station. A side of them we didn't really see again until season 3/4.

Up to you what you choose to watch of course, but I think The Gathering is still an important part of the whole. And an interesting curiosity, to see what was kept and what changed.

I mentioned that in the alt text. We have seen space elevators in Voyager and Lower Decks.

It's always nice to see these hard SF ideas show up in Trek, but I suppose the transporter makes space elevators largely unnecessary.

Oh, looking at the filenames for those 👆 two images, they include the text "set-ext-spacedock" and "key-int-enterprise-bridge", so that clears a few things up!

The 2025 Red Sonja felt like a TV movie, but it was okay. Better than the 1985 one. Good villain. It met my low expectations.

Destroyer was the best of the three, by some margin.
