This should never be normal. Children risk these journeys because there are no safe alternatives to reach safety and their loved ones.
That's the direct result of restrictive policies that leave children with no other choice.

We stand with refugees for safety, family and justice, using legal expertise and advocacy to bring refugee families together πͺ

They are all part of the same system. To change this, we must demand a system that protects everyone, equally.
Refugee justice means racial justice. And racial justice means refugee justice.
This #BlackHistoryMonth and every month, we stand with Black refugees and communities whose experiences show us that the fight for safety is also a fight against racism.
Hostile borders, anti-refugee rhetoric and policies, and racist discrimination donβt exist in isolation.
Refugee family reunion was never a "golden ticket". It was already highly restrictive, blocking children reuniting with siblings, or the only relatives they had left. Families were already waiting months or years. And now, the government wants to tear even more families apart.

Migration may have dominated the headlines over the last few days, but this Government has yet to put forward compassionate policies to stop deaths in the Channel.
Here's the message we shared at our panel with the Safe Routes Coalitionπ
π¨Were you or your family affected by the Ministry of Defence Afghan data breach?

Family reunion should be a right, not a fight. Yet with governments across Europe making it harder, countless children are still waiting for this moment. Donate today to help us reunite more families like Farzad's: www.safepassage.org.uk/donate?utm_s...
30.09.2025 12:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When death threats forced his parents and siblings to flee too, they turned to us to reunite with Farzad. Our legal team in France fought to secure their visas β until finally, after years of danger and waiting, Farzad finally hugged his mum and dad again.
30.09.2025 12:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Farzad was just 14 when he had to leave Afghanistan, alone. Like many boys his age, he risked being recruited by the Taliban, and his dadβs activism made him an even bigger target. He made it safely to France, but the separation took a devastating toll on the family.

This government need to change direction urgently, or they will be condemning more refugees to the same fate. We can't stand to see more children, women, and men die needlessly.
29.09.2025 14:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Three weeks ago, the Government suspended Refugee Family Reunion β one of the few ways mostly women and children could reach their loved ones safely. And today, the Home Secretary is expected to announce even harsher migration policies.
29.09.2025 12:06 β π 0 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0A child, two women, and a man tragically died trying to reach the UK over the weekend. Their lives were not lost to chance, but to choices: choices to shut down safe routes and leave people with no option but to take dangerous journeys.

Imagine being a child, separated from your parents, and seeing your last option to reunite with them stripped away by the government. Thatβs what just happened a few weeks ago.

These kinds of proposals cause real harm to people whoβve rebuilt their lives here and stoke division in our communities.
Racist, divisive politics have no place in the UK.

19.09.2025 13:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yesterday, thousands of people gathered across the UK to reject hate politics. It's a reminder that there's so many of us who choose compassion and justice. We won't back down.
18.09.2025 10:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What weβve seen on our streets in the last few days is a chilling warning: we can't allow division and hostility to win. History has taught us where this road leads and we refuse to go back.

As we mark this anniversary, our solidarity is clear: every woman should have the right to live in freedom and safety. Thatβs why we continue to call for safe routes, so women fleeing gender based violence can rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK.
16.09.2025 09:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Three years ago, the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini at the hands of Iran's morality police sparked the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising. Countless women and girls came together across Iran, demanding equality and freedom.
16.09.2025 09:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But hate was not the only story. Across the country, thousands of people came together in counter-protest, resisting racism, Islamophobia, and division and standing shoulder to shoulder to say loud and clear: refugees are welcome here.
This is what the UK really stands for.
Itβs a terrifying time for people whoβve fled unspeakable danger, only to find themselves met with even more violence and fear in the very country they thought would be a safe haven.
The people we support every day deserve safety, dignity, and the chance to rebuild their lives.
This weekend saw one of the largest-ever far-right protests in Britain, with racist chants and slogans echoing across the country. This is what years of divisive, anti-refugee rhetoric and policies pandering to the far-right have produced.

In a time when refugees face ongoing hostility, having spaces where they can connect, reflect and organise is more vital than ever.
