kind of amazing that everything trump does can be understood through the lens of narcissism and it's related needs (e.g., self aggrandizement, revenge, domination, grievance validation). i don't think any character has been so one-dimensional, not even wile e coyote or scrooge mcduck

I'd forgotten about her. Yes with hindsight she was like a proto-Truss on a small scale. The slide into delusion egotism seems so easy.

Pritchard seemed to have been freed from the weight of 13 years of never getting a Ministerial post lifted from his shoulders and actually sounded like he was thinking about stuff and was certainly not towing the party line on everything.

Roh got remarkably close given the previous majority. Knowing a bit about him before long before he stood I think he would have been a good MP. Though I'm not sure how a refugee would fit into the current Labour demonization policies.

There were glimmers of him making quite sensible noises at times over the last 18 months but most of the Shropshire wards in his constituency went Reform last May and I guess he sees the same will happen to those parts of his constituency on the fringes of Telford.

The companies are OK: they raised prices to cover the tariffs, then got paid some millions for the refund rights. Who gets screwed? Consumers who paid higher prices, and taxpayers who have to pay for the refunds. A 3-layer scheme for a cabinet secretary’s family to steal $100m’s from regular folks

1. Have your government illegally charge companies billions
2. Have your sons buy some of the rights to collect the refunds for a percentage of their worth
3. Collect hundreds of millions from the government when the taxes are struck down

The most corrupt Eastern European oligarchs must be nodding with respect at the stuff Trump administration officials are coming up with. This is genius
