End of an era is ahead for Portland's most romantic display on ice

Lloyd Center's ice rink is set to be demolished. A couple who have skated at the Portland facility for decades are among those who will mourn its loss.

This Portland couple, ages 80 and 75, have been ice skating together at Lloyd Center since 1967.

This beloved Portland ice rink is facing demolition. Skaters are begging the mayor to intervene The loss of the mall would mean the loss of Portland’s only indoor ice rink.

In a last-ditch effort to save the Lloyd Center, roughly 40 people showed up at Portland’s town hall on Wednesday. The group brought Valentine’s Day cards with sentimental messages for Mayor Keith Wilson to show how special the mall’s ice rink truly is.
