I know this isn't a forum for personal stuff (there doesn't seem to be a place for that kind of meaningful interaction any more), but today has brought me hope. After that, there will be war against NATO countries. It's not far-fetched to say we could be facing WW III. Only this time, the US will be on the 'wrong side'. (It might end up being the winning side, but it'll still be the wrong one.)

It's a surreal world where the POTUS seems to be aligning with Russia (and China) as a European threat. If they get their way, more war is inevitable. Europe knows that. Trump has effectively reduced NATO's ability to respond. But it's NATO's fault for relying so heavily on the US war machine. FAFO.

I like them all for varying reasons and love the originals. However, as an RPG-loving individual who enjoys open worlds and adores mythology and all things Ancient Greece, my personal favourite is Odyssey.

The British Sun is a tabloid marked by sensationalist headlines and (historically topless) Page 3 girls. The target audience is lower and working-class men. Its owner, Rupert Murdoch, is tied to numerous scandals and illegal behaviours. I don't know about the US version, but ours is rubbish.

Thank you for sharing this. I've increasingly turned to suicidal ideation in recent years. My life is off track, and I can't find a way to make it feel worth living. So far, my strategy has been to 'wait one more day and then just one more day.' How long that will continue to work is uncertain.

It was a few years ago, but my cat and I shared a nasty flu virus (H1N1). In our instance, I picked it up during my commute and gave it to him. We were off work for a week. It was the first time I'd experienced cross-species illness, but Newt and I were peas and carrots, so it made sense.

They knew. I've been hearing them out themselves for years. Supposedly caring about my well-being whilst actively speaking out/voting against the support/protections I need to survive in an ableist world. They don't want me on benefits, but they also don't want me in a job. What's left is dead.

It was the attempt at a live service game that screwed DAV up in the first place. So much of the richest content was either discarded or buried beneath the bones of the linear, quest-to-quest GaaS style play. I love the game, but it reeks of abandoned MMORPG.

No one wanted live service features. We didn't want them in DAI, and we didn't want them here. What we wanted was a #dragonage game rich with storytelling, dialogue and choices. Most of which was cut or buried beneath the bones of a linear, quest-to-quest and rightly discarded GaaS playstyle. #EA

Yes, this was from Amazon. I should have known better. They aren't in bad enough condition to return, but you can tell they weren't packed or handled correctly.

I have no respect for anyone who mistreats #books. My (replacement) hardcopy orders for Hobbit, LOTR, and Silmarillion just arrived—thrown in a box with no protective covering. They are not damaged enough to send back (and they weren't expensive copies), but I am royally pissed off nonetheless.

The silence, yes. But also the overheard stage whispers, the picked up conversations at parties and social gatherings, the memes, comments and posts on social. You know, all those expressed words of the, "Of course, we don't mean you," variety.

It's taken four months of extended sick leave to finally feel capable of starting my recovery journey. But while I'm grateful to live in a country where I have decent paid sick leave, pressure is mounting to return to work—and I'm nowhere near ready.

I agree. There is some great dialogue buried beneath the linear, quest-to-quest game style, but there are numerous tells that suggest an intent of having real player companions questing together vs one player + NPC companions.

Two years, three lockdowns, and never-ending restrictions. I was isolated for a year, and then my interactions were minimal for another. It took its toll. I've been pretty much a hermit ever since.

Staying married would have been better, but yes. I'm glad we chose to remain friends and family. I love him dearly, as he does me; just differently now.

I dated a bit after the divorce, but it was just me and the moggie (my cat Newt) during lockdown, and just me since Newt died in 2021.
