All the success from the TV series hit Exodol hard. He had an influx of wealth and status. He got doped up on meth and heroin. It took a toll on his body. By the time they went to film DYRL, they were contractually obligated to keep him in the film.

The Sheryl/Ranka Macross 7 medley was great, but I can't say it makes the whole thing worth a watch.

I enjoyed it well enough.

The Durandel is gorgeous. You'll hear nothing less from me. But yeah, especially with the super parts on, she's off balance AF.

I'd like to see a return to better backpacks. The VF-1 is peak. It tucks the wings down.

The 25-31 all have enormous backpacks with excess parts sticking out.

Logistically if they land on their backs, their airframe can get wrecked.

I feel the OVA is a stronger story structure. The opening goes a long way to establishing Isamu's character.

Without it, the beginning of the movie drags on a bit.
