People are still afraid of the ndp because of Rae days 30+ years ago. Liberals need a really, really well known well liked leader to beat Doug's "folksy" charm. A lot of people think all politicians are corrupt so why not know upfront what you're getting.

This is all fine and well, if it works. First Nations are now publicly providing reasons why no one will step forward to build it. How will the liberals repair the damage to their relationship with FNs including the Coastal Chiefs?

And if an election were held today, Doug Ford would still win. 😠

Is there anything in the MOU that the government can do about this?

This should be communicated widely through the media to encourage more EV purchases. Often announcements like this get lost in the headlines. Provinces should pony up too.

I agree his credentials are fantastic. I already read Max's article & agree with him.Unfortunately many Green and NDP voters aren't taking it that way. The environmentalists are going berserk. This could reflect on the next election. We could end up with the Cons & pipelines everywhere!

The Carney govt in part was elected for his history of climate activism. We expected he would enhance our progress towards net zero. Offering to help Alberta build a new pipeline is disappointing. Although the pipeline may never happen, he's opened up the possibility. Your article is paywalled.

It is super frustrating that another pipeline could potentially be built. One way to stop it is to make sure there are climate-aligned financial rules by the banks. Read about it and look below for the link to join Senator Galvez and us Wednes Dec10. canada.citizensclimatelobby.org/laser-talk-s...

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I've seen them in person at least 6 times including the last reunion tour when they played Casino Rama. I'm old!

Carney did not pull a bait and switch. Like it or not he campaigned saying he would turn the country into a CONVENTIONAL and renewable energy super power. Many weren't listening or cared about the environment enough. The good thing that may be coming of this is that climate is top of mind again.

28.11.2025 18:03 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The concerning part is Bill C5. Can Carney or any future government not override the wishes of BC and FNs if they so chose, along with environmental regs? If ndp voters return to the ndp next election, we could get a Con majority who will not consult with any affected parties. Slippery slope!

28.11.2025 13:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

There's already been several experts who have said this pipeline is unlikely to ever happen. Max explains the likely play the PM has made, which I hope he's right. It isn't being said enough and Carney might lose the support from former ndp voters who helped him win the election.

Same problems going east. Quebec is against as well as First Nations concerns there to. Doug Ford is chomping at the bit for an Ontario pipeline. He'd bungle it just like everything else he does.

Besides the obvious environmental impact and reasons already mentioned against this ever really happening, has Asia who is divesting from fossil fuels said they would buy it? This discussion seems to be missing in the media.

Make sure to watch the interview with Jonathon Wilkenson, former energy minister. He lays it on the table. This pipeline is never going to happen and we should cool our jets until we see the MOU tomorrow.

Media & Cons trying to make too much of Carney's response to a reporter when asked about Trump, replied, "who cares" I agree with Carney! We are getting deals all over the world. Why get a headache over a 4th grader?

So this is a guy from the party that the Bloc wants to give another chance at winning an election when they dont vote for the budget. Hopefully NDP knows better. We'll see tonight! Thanks Elizabeth May. I knew she is smart.

A new meditation app that embraces climate breakdown.

Breathe in profit. Breathe out responsibility.

If you’ve ever had problems with anxiety from being a fossil fuel executive, this is the app for you.

Its the O & G focus, lack of help for the public and perceived drop in environmental action that's turning the NDP voters off. The way the budget has been presented by the media doesn't help either. The major projects are being "considered" and are not a done deal as presented by the press.

16.11.2025 19:02 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

A lot of NDP voters are. I'm not happy with LNG but I fear PP more. He'll drop all environmental laws, reconciliation and cut social programs. I'd rather have a liberal government who might listen to voters. Big fear, CPC removes PP & elects Ford. Same as PP with added corruption & incompetence.

16.11.2025 18:42 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

We shall wait and see. If the budget does not pass tomorrow we will be into an election. Either Carney will get a majority, we're back to where we are except for time and money wasted, or we get Pollievre. NDP or Greens will not win. Take your pick!

16.11.2025 18:22 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I don't think that will happen. They haven't used the bill yet. The political backlash to a minority government would be huge. I'm aware of the law suits and hope the FNs win.

16.11.2025 18:10 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

You should read the article before using it to substantiate your claims. It says the exact opposite to your argument by pointing out all the indeginous consultations that are underway and have happened. Many First Nations are in favor of these projects & will benefit. Some are not in favor.

16.11.2025 18:08 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Pollievre also said he wants to use the notwithstanding clause regularly and his solution to Trump is that we need to buy more from the US. He also told Trump to "knock it off", his other solution.

16.11.2025 16:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Do you have proof of this? Pollievre would be a disaster. He said he'd build 15 pipelines, make his own laws, told First Nations that they dont need money, they just need to learn the value of hard work.
