So @reprileyny.bsky.social's approach to issues is "to back up to the point where you can find some common ground." Backing up connotes cowardice, playing it safe. How about having a value system that informs how you approach issues? Like it's not okay to snipe children? Is that too much to ask?

As if that wasn't bad enough, last night Abeer's friend Hanaa Aql was killed along with her children, Batoul and Mohammed, and her husband Zaid. Their home was reduced to rubble. "We buried them and left the place, my heart torn to pieces," said Abeer.

On Oct 19, Abeer’s uncle Hassan Washah’s house in Al-Bureij Camp was targeted by two F-16 missiles, completely destroying the home over its residents. The bombing killed nine children and four adults. Abeer is heartbroken. Her uncle needs help purchasing essentials.

Thanks to a generous donor, Abeer obtained a solar panel so she has solved the problem of charging and lighting. She was also able to get a room from her neighbor in exchange for providing light. While that is good news, Abeer and her family continue to struggle to survive under harsh conditions.

We join our brave brothers & sisters in Gaza in celebrating the news of a ceasefire. We hope they soon see reprieve.

I know of one instance where Instagram deactivated the account of a person in Gaza I am helping. I repeatedly told them that I know her. Now they are blocking the new account from following others, saying she is impersonating & deceiving, and needs to be verified. Advice on how to do this?
