My future job endeavors, my possible move to STL before the one to Orlando, the life I’m building for myself, is all overshadowed by this sense of dread over what’s to come. The fear in her eyes when she realized where we were is so unfair. The feeling of everything coming back on to me, all of the fear and pain and loss all at once was unbearable. Just a few doors down, we had thanksgiving dinner and one last sleepover with my uncle.

Today my grandma was hospitalized (again) for her chronic pneumonia, and she’s just a few doors down from the room my uncle had been in.

My grandma had a massive stroke that nearly killed her, then I was fired from a job I had dedicated my life to for 6 years, then my grandma had 2 more strokes.
All of this was followed by my great grandma being diagnosed with breast cancer, and almost immediately after that my uncle -

There is something so wildly unfair about the past 3 years of my life, that sometimes it’s hard to appreciate the good things I’ve got.
