We remain focused on driving our business by creating a sense of belonging for our team, guests and communities through a commitment to inclusion. Belonging for all is an essential part of our team and culture, helping fuel consumer relevance and business results.
In every area of our business, we are constantly listening, learning and adjusting to set ourselves up for long-term success. As we start a new fiscal year, we’re continuing to shape the next chapter of Belonging at the Bullseye.

Our strategy is rooted in:
Our team: We recruit and retain team members who represent the communities we serve and fuel a culture where everyone has access to opportunity and growth, enabling our team to deliver business results.
Our guests: We aim to create joyful experiences through an assortment of products and services that help all guests feel seen and celebrated, increasing relevance with consumers.
Our communities: We build deep and lasting relationships with the communities we serve, driving impact, economic vitality and connection that fuels loyalty.
Throughout 2025, we’ll be accelerating action in key areas and implementing changes with the goal of driving growth and staying in step with the evolving external landscape. We will continue to monitor and adjust as needed. Current actions include:

Ensuring our employee resource groups are communities fully focused on development and mentorship. These communities will continue to be open to all.
Further evaluating our corporate partnerships to ensure they are directly connected to our roadmap for growth.
Stopping all external diversity-focused surveys, including HRC’s Corporate Equality Index.
Evolving our “Supplier Diversity” team to “Supplier Engagement” to better reflect our inclusive global procurement process across a broad range of suppliers, including increasing our focus on small businesses.

Target's commitment to racial equity and social justice
Target’s purpose is to help all families experience the joy of everyday life. This includes standing with Black and Indigenous people and people of color in our commitment to advancing social justice and racial equity across America. Where our guests live and shop, where our Team Members live and work, where our community partners make an impact—we will be there, too, putting our purpose into action, every day. Target’s leadership team announced initial actions in a letter from CEO Brian Cornell on May 26, 2020, and a commitment of ongoing resources and funds on June 5, 2020. Additional ongoing actions and commitments will be shared here.

Target's stance
We recognize the systemic and structural barriers that Black and Indigenous communities and communities of color face every day. We believe everyone has a role to play in addressing these injustices. We’re committed to using our size, scale and resources to advance social justice and racial equity both inside and outside of Target. We are working toward a future where everyone, regardless of their race or background, has equal access to opportunities and in which everyone feels welcome, valued and respected.
Screenshot of the following text:
our commitments
We’ll invest in local and national partnerships to address social justice.
We’ve committed $10 million from Target and the Target Foundation to support long-standing partners such as the National Urban League and the African American Leadership Forum. We’ll be adding new partners in Minneapolis-St. Paul and across the country to further address the systemic and structural barriers facing Black and Indigenous communities and communities of color. We’ll also offer guests the choice to direct Target funds to organizations supporting social justice through Target Circle, our loyalty program.
Screenshot of the following text:
We’ll support Black-, Indigenous- and people-of-color-owned businesses.
We’ve committed 10,000 hours of pro-bono consulting services for Black-, Indigenous- and people-of-color-owned small businesses in the Twin Cities to help with their rebuilding efforts, and the Target Foundation will also provide grants to nonprofits that can further help support these small business owners. In addition, the Foundation will continue its efforts to promote racial equity in the areas of housing, asset-building and workforce development.
We’ll provide essentials and supplies to communities in need.
We’ll continue to listen and learn in order to best partner with our communities, and that includes donating essentials such as baby formula, diapers, medicine and more to those most in need.

Photo of a large, human-sized black dog curled and sleeping on a beige leather two-cushion loveseat with her head on a white and blue pillow. The loveseat cushions are squashed and sagging, but the dog looks all the more comfortable for it.
