The push to censor what kind of art can be purchased online and the supposed promise of Generative AI to revolutionize our relationship to art, to turn art into a funko-pop assembly line that is controlled by corporations and not artists: I think both of these are connected imo.

Also why AI is such a perfect solution for people. A way to make "art" without having any ideas or spending any time on making things.

Increasingly convinced the main damage cell phones have done to creativity isn't decreased attention spans or what not but the elimination of productive boredom. Inspiration comes from the mind filling the void inside. Hard to make art when you're constantly silencing the silence with "content."

Go on, fulfill your witchy dreams!

There honestly needs to be more pushback against the groups. Furry, Queer, and Trans people are being attacked at every level. From laws, to public displays of support, to medicine, and now what content we can consume. We need an organized resistance.

A lot of people come into the games industry and pretty soon develop a cynical attitude that the industry is largely run by business guys who don't know a thing about video games. It's only after a few years and some seniority that you realize that those guys don't know shit about business either.

Burnout is clinically understood as a combo of 6 factors—work overload, lack of control, insufficient rewards, breakdown in community, absence of fairness, & value conflicts—and only a fraction of it is under your control. Burnout is a systemic problem, so be kind to yourself and hard on the system.

As for the disillusion, I supposed the combo of world affairs and awareness of how gentrified/hyper-capitalistic the holiday is (esp today) probably added to that.

It’s still one of my fav holidays, even tho some may not feel that same way, which is valid too.

I feel it’s both a case of “disillusion of Christmas” and a matter of looking at the right places where it comes to deco. Most of Europe still rock their Christmas markets and malls in that regard.

Oh yeah it was! I think among the rest it’s probably the “funniest” among them. As for Artic Nation, that volume was the most tragically bittersweet one imo that it actually made me cry. 😭

Might just be the next fav volume after ‘Artic Nation’!
