I think its cool how you can predict when a trap is coming in Doom because you can hear monsters idle sounds

Doom's overall soundscape is so incredibly good

if you want like mostly chill but still somewhat more challenge, you can turn on weaker monsters don't give exp, that one isn't bad at all

it really just demands you know what you're doing when it comes to character builds

if you're just throwing points around, its a slog. If you know what each character has and how to leverage it, its not too bad

stronger monsters starts out kinda miserable in XI since it like doubles enemy health but once you're able to get decent builds going, its pretty cool

some of these encounters are absolutely for psychos but I really respect how they're able to make pretty tough encounters with relatively few enemies

yeah I think its a pretty reasonable level of difficulty, its pretty hard to grind to the point that you trivialize things and you gotta put a good bit of thought into your builds when you start getting to the mid game
