According to Google AI, “Made in Japan” and “Japan” were primarily used 1921-1940, but also after 1952. They could be from the interregnum period, but I don’t know enough to say for sure. If post 1952, I don’t think too much later. 🤷🏼

Bought on eBay last year. Bukowski Bears, I learned, is a Swedish maker of high quality teddy bears. Besides the attention to detail, his plush fur is denser and softer than your average stuffed monkey.

Tag says (c) 1977 Russ Berrie & Co. I remember seeing these in stores in the late 70s, but I got this one on eBay this century.

I dubbed him Sleepin’ Sidney for obvious reasons.
