Black and White Ruffed lemurs are the largest quadrupedal lemurs in Madagascar. Their bodies measure about 20 inches long, but that extra-long tail—stretching around 23 inches—does some serious work, helping them balance as they move through the rainforest canopy.

Eastern woolly lemurs (Avahi laniger) are native to Madagascar's east coast in moist rainforests. They live in monogamous family groups that maintain long-lasting bonds. They are arboreal (live in trees) and nocturnal. Threatened by habitat loss and hunting for bushmeat. Listed as Vulnerable.

Headline writer attempting to, i dunno, be polite, refers to Trump's scurrilous, racist depiction of the Obamas as "primates."

We're all primates, friend. That wasn't the offense.

Chacma baboons (Papio ursinus) are found in Southern Africa. They occupy forests, savannas, shrublands, and grasslands. They aerate soil while foraging for tubers and roots, exposing nutrients otherwise unavailable to some larger animals. Widespread and abundant, they face no major threats.

Red-fronted brown lemurs are sexually dichromatic—which means males and females wear totally different looks!

All red-fronted brown lemur babies are born looking like adult males! Females don’t start developing their signature coloring until they’re about 3–4 months old.
