To add to this- It’s easy to “freeze” ie “fight, flight, or freeze” when you see awful shit online. Exercise / movement (dance or just bouncing on your heels and shaking etc) is really good to do when feeling especially overwhelmed, and it helps keep you engaged rather than flattened and defeated

Biggest loss from tiktok ban imo is whatever they do to prevent bullying and belligerent comments. Sure bullying there still exists, but compared to Instagram / YouTube / Facebook it’s miles better.

I find it alarming how little you see about the LA fires on any social media site that isn't TikTok. Maybe it's who I follow / what I interact with, but on my Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube it's like it isn't even happening.
