Interesting, when I served, if you got popped & were active duty, they would only release you back to your command, they wouldn't even release you to a spouse back then, let alone on your own. I know from experience (underage drinking, DUI, anything you get arrested for).

Total project is approaching 100k lines of code, and if you think about it, a 6-figured cost is very reasonable. That would be less than $10/line on average. It is a mixture of Python, C/C++ (I might switch that to Rust possibly), a ton of web shit which is easy, but shhhh. And building a new OS.

Have a potential client that has a slick ass media appliance, but it's written in Python 2.x & uses old XML stuff. They want to support HDR, which means it has to run on Wayland. Asked for a quote to make this work. Rewrite a HUGE code base to Python 3 & then some..Didn't like the 6-figure quote :D

This is impressive! As someone who repelled in the military, that sideways jumping & moving like that is far from easy.
