Nope it actually works. Tesla validated the commercial market for EVs but they wouldn’t have been able to do it if they hadn’t been able to sell ZEV credits for a decade.

There’s a compound benefit for countries that import all their fuel. They don’t keep sending that money out of the country any more, and all that energy spent transporting/storing/distributing fuel (and cleaning spills) isn’t needed either

I absolutely agree. I agree with Hannah Richie that ag is our best frontier for emissions reductions, and I understand that in Asia they’re already selling lab-grown chicken.

Ironically, it's the Heritage Foundation that came up with the idea of carbon trading as a free-market solution to reducing emissions.

It's tricky, because we ALL belong to a special interest group in one way or another. Eliminating lobbying entirely isn't the answer.

But there's WAY too much corporate money involved, and eliminating that may help.
