Physically impossible. Round-trip just electrolyzing water and running the hydrogen through a fuel cell loses you 40% right there. That doesn't even begin to count processing and transport.

I live in the far north. Each of the northern territories (Yukon, Nunavut and NWT) get their own MP, despite having only a fraction of the population of all southern ridings (like all three together might qualify for one). That gives these regions disproportionate power.

In Canada it's messier. Sure, we have a House and a Senate, but our house has been limited in size, too. Worse, ridings have been allowed to have MASSIVE population disparities...

If Congress was working as designed, it would have several hundred more members now, and even the Electoral College would be fairer because each state's EC vote number is calculated from the sum of their House reps + 2 (for their senators).

You've provided a decent overview. There's a problem in the US, though: the House of Representatives (i.e. the population component) has been frozen for decades, with Congress members representing more and more constituents all the time...

I get the frustration with the Electoral College. But you get that it's written into the Constitution, right? And the basic principle is that it's the states sending representatives to the EC to elect the President.

What can you offer Wyoming or Rhode Island so they'd willingly give up that power?
