More bird worship...we watched the release of these 3 griffon vultures yesterday. They were rescued and cared for by RIAS, our local wild animal rescue centre here in the Algarve, Portugal. These small underfunded rescue facilities are all over the world. Please support one near you.

Here is a spotless starling from my garden in Portugal. I've been in a pretty deep funk writing-wise, but I've built a bird pool and hide and love watching and photographing the birds. I suppose it's a kind of worship.

I love 'Sleeping Keys.' One of my favourite collections. Some of the poems in there helped me keep going through the dark days of divorce. 'Sea Holly,' for instance.

While driving to Ikea for a laundry basket – The Friday Poem
by Heidi Beck — our Friday Poem on 11/10/2024
As a first post on BlueSky, here is a recently published poem of mine. In the current political climate, it is something I can offer against despair.
