I recently reworked my Draco-Lich for Critical Critters. Never let a 1 get you down, become undead!

Watercolour painting of a winged cat monster reminiscent of medieval marginalia, in front of a stone frame. It is facing you, and blepping aggressively with the cheekiest expression you can picture on a ragdoll cat. Anyone familiar with gothic architecture in the general Rhine river area might recognise the peculiar colour of the stone as a local construction material. There are pretzels in the decorative frame, and the artist is still giggling to himself off-screen about adding those in.

I finished this watercolour piece just yesterday! Proud of myself for making something, despite current circumstances. 💪
I had a few tricks up my sleeves to keep things symmetrical, this time.

= The Great Fumehead =

The Aphotean Artifact "The sharkfolk have advanced greatly in technology over the ages, but it is not known how far the denizens of the deep have advanced, it is believed that they are stagnating, but artifacts of unknown function such as this one may tell us otherwise." - An Aphotean artifact found stranded on a beach after a hurricane in the open sea. It is an intricate sculpture, possibly a ceremonial idol of the eccentric Aphoteans of the six gill slits (Bluntnose sixgill shark - Hexanchus griseus). The carved figure appears to be embracing an unusual-looking blue gemstone, which emits a soft, almost imperceptible hiss. But those who come close feel something else: a subtle vibration interfering with the ampullae of Lorenzini. Both the gem and the material of the sculpture are unknown.

The Stranded Ruins "It was only when the ancient monolithic works of the denizens of the deep stranded on the beaches of the sea's surface, after being pushed by tectonic forces, that the sharkfolk were able to catch a glimpse of them and just begin to decipher them." - In an unspoiled tropical paradise, a hammerhead shark and a mako shark are on an archaeological expedition to a large Aphotean ruin that has been washed ashore after successive earthquakes over the ages. The hammerhead shark is shining its flashlight on a large mural on the walls of the ruin. The ruin appears to be a large tunnel decorated with murals depicting two Aphoteans (descendants of the Goblin Sharks - Mitsukurina owstoni) who appear to be summoning a mystical essence through an underwater chimney and condensing it into a spherical gem; the purpose of the ritual is unknown. Although there are representations of astronomical objects throughout the ruin, it is believed that these people never saw the celestial dome, which may mean that these symbols may represent something else.

The Tiny Citadel "It is known that many clans of the sharkfolk are small in stature, but only in the depths do the little ones dwell, for the ruins pushed to the surface reveal just how tiny their citadels are, delicate structures carved from the darkness." - In a submerged volcanic cave, a blue shark explorer and photographer takes a picture of the ruins of a little Aphotean citadel. The citadel was probably pushed by tectonic forces into the euphotic zone caused by an ancient eruption, which forced its inhabitants to abandon it. Despite this, the marine fauna thrives in its surroundings. The structures carved into the submerged rock have peculiar cylindrical shapes, adorned with intricate reliefs and circular holes that appear to have served as doors and windows. Given the scale of the buildings, archaeologists suspect that they belonged to the enigmatic dwarf Aphoteans (descendants of the lantern sharks - Etmopteridae).
