our host was a man named ben green (@thepirateben.bsky.social) in 2019, he bought the biggest, cheapest, most isolated piece of land he could find in germany and started what he calls โone manโs ten-year plan to build a post-climate catastrophe communityโ.

last summer i spent a week living in an old army barracks-turned-eco-bunker, deep in the east german forest.
i was there for the Collapse Laboratory, a retreat that brought people together to think about how to prepare for the end of the world.
