On a recent morning our cat had a staring contest with a visiting squirrel. The squirrel's whiskers showed evidence of raiding the suet we put out for the birds.

I enjoyed my hikes the last 2 days out of Sunrise at Mt Rainier National Park. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, friendly people.

A hailstorm near Gig Harbor, WA interrupted our drive today. The hail was mixed into a snow/rain mix.

The mountain was out, a rarity in the winter months. Mt Rainier taken from Silverdale, WA.

We lived in Pasadena, TX during the last freeze event when they turned off the power. Luckily we had just had our pipes upgraded and insulated. Our neighbors were not so lucky. We also had a gas range so we had some heat. As usual the Texas government has done nothing to prepare for the next event.

One of my favorite places to hike to, Mt Fremont fire lookout in Mt Rainier National Park. I was lucky enough to be able to hike there on the last day the road to Sunrise was open. The weather was raw but i loved every minute of it. 2013

I love taking photos of reflections. This one caught my eye as I sat in a coffee shop in San Antonio, TX. It took a few tries before could capture the image with my phone camera.

A few pics from a July 2007 backpacking trip through the Grand Canyon. Normally we wouldn't have chosen July as the temperatures reached 123 degrees on the canyon floor but it was the only time all of our schedules matched. It was the trip of a lifetime.
