If I was putting together a 40-album list of Canadian albums released from May 2024 through May 2025, and a 10-album short list within it... it'd probably look something like this. Maybe not exactly like this, but definitely more like this than like some other lists.

Oh hey, new Rival Consoles, Fuubutsushi, Sorcerers, and Leroi Conroy albums all released today, just in time for my birthday weekend. Not bad at all.

I mean, I might swap Destroyer, Population II, or Yoo Doo Right onto that list somewhere. Maybe Bristol Manor as well. But still says something that I could get a solid 40 without any overlap, and without feeling I was missing anything ::too:: essential.

Looking at everyone’s mid-year album lists and sometimes it feels like there are more bands than listeners the r days? So many extensive, mutually exclusive playlists out there.
