It's not radical to think every vote should count.
It's not radical to think every constituency should matter.
It's not radical to think 34% of the vote is not a landslide.
It's not radical to want to vote for the party you truly support.
It's common sense. #PRnow

"PR puts the power in the hands of voters rather than in the hands of politicians."
Such an important point by @appgfairelections.bsky.social Vice Chair @lisasmartmp.bsky.social.
Under FPTP, big decisions are made within the large parties. Under PR, voters have real choice.
When one party holds most of the seats on less than half the votes, the supposed “majority” is fragile from the start. The real fights aren’t across the floor of the Commons, but inside the ruling party itself. It may look stable on paper, but inside it’s a house divided.

Great letter from business leaders in the FT highlighting how chaos under First Past the Post has caused economic uncertainty and hurt growth.

And it's Day 12 of 12 Days of Democracy 🎄⭐️🧑🏼🎄
Here's yet another reason to support PR - and a Christmas message from our CEO Emma Harrison.
However you're spending the coming days, we wish a very happy festive season to all our activists and supporters ✨
Under First Past the Post, tactical voting has become a major feature of our general elections in the UK – a symptom of a system that forces voters to game the rules instead of expressing their opinions and values.

Our voting system is broken.
It's time for a change that truly reflects what voters want.
💥 Excellent article in @economist.com about the absurdity of election results under FPTP - and its consequences:
"When the country has lots of medium-size parties, the correlation between the number of votes in, and number of seats out, owes more to Las Vegas than to Edmund Burke." 💯💯
62% of people now support a party other than Labour or the Tories.* Voters are demanding real choice. *YouGov, 30 Nov-1 Dec 2025

How has Britain's democracy performed this year? Let's check...
On budget day, let's not forget how much there is to fix in this country - building better education, housing, climate action and other things require long-term planning that only collaborative budgets with multi-party involvement can secure. 🧵
#ChangeTheVotingSystem to Proportional Representation
Rachel Reeves promises "stability for our public finances - the single most important factor in getting our cost of living down."
Under FPTP, we've had:
☑️ 6 Prime Ministers and
☑️ 8 different Chancellors since 2015.
There's no economic stability without fixing our democracy.
Democracy
How did we get there?
What is it for?
Is there another way?
Join us tomorrow.
There is a better way.
Proportional Representation would give us governments that truly reflect the country, not just a fraction of it.
It would push parties to work together.
It would give Britain the foundations to grow, to innovate, and to invest in its future.
By working together, a coalition government in a proportional representation system could ensure that the planned changes can stand the test of time. With FPTP, the next government will undo all changes, both good and bad.

The Government must wake up and get to grips with First Past the Post before it’s too late.
