the most important thing you can ever do is be the person the scared little kid inside of you needed to know could live; the tiny soul stumbling and sprinting through a thunderous world with big eyes and electric wonder and tender bones and COURAGE wrapped along the bare sleeves of a beating heart that sang, that yelled, that hurt, that cried, that endured! and that cut its losses against asphyxiation's siren call and buried it all miles underneath in wounded trade for a breathless cocoon that, for all its walls, couldn't hurt them like the daggers out there would. does that make it better? would you want that for them? love the you who needs you, for all their stumbling; hold who they were yesterday, who they were a year ago, who they wanted to be when they were old and grey. hold their hand and their heart, and through that mirror, you can hold the hurting hand of anyone who's hurt you, any world that surrounds you, and anything that stands in your way. i love you for everything you ever were, from everywhere you ever came from, for everything you'll ever be. i know those daggers went deep, but i'll hug you every second i can for the both of us. everything starts from there.
