🌃I still have pretty severe trauma and mental illness after how I grew up honestly, but I moved in with my girlfriend 2 years ago, and she watches to make sure I'm safe

💕I only don't draw North anymore, because that story's over, but I'll always be glad they were there for it

📌North, like me, was just someone hurt and vulnerable trying to find their way to find home for the first time, even if I didn't plan on it turning out that way

In a time where I was questioning my own life and afraid of each day, drawing this silly character kept me going

✨But I made it to the people who support me, even if I got hurt a lot getting there!

North was there to draw and dream of that "home" when I had a life where I panic look over my shoulder, where I'd hide in my room from the yelling and banging every day shaking, crying

⛈️The art I have of North is also a time capsule of my mistakes

Like the person I was dating at the time, who I later (a while after using Comet) learned had cheated on me with most people I knew, and also got exposed for grooming

I've never wanted to talk to them since...

🌧️I didn't have anyone to support me back then outside online friends, and my family wasn't happy about who I was either

Art was my escape closer to the people who loved me, when those who should didn't, even if those people didn't turn out to be great either

⏳In my oldest art, though always they/them, they're much more masculine than years later!

At the time, I was living with family, forced to be live a strict religious life I didn't want to be a part of until 18, and couldn't ever even explore interests, let alone identity

🐺North was a character I drew when I first started discovering myself until I was ~halfway through 18!

Looking back, North changed over time to match how I expressed myself as I matured more and more into the person I am!

⌛️It means North serves as a time capsule of myself
