The dotnet/nuget restore algorithm has been rewritten for 6.12/net9/17.12. For legacy this error can be resolved by setting `RestoreUseLegacyDependencyResolver` set to `true` in projectfile or `Directory.Build.props` file.

Anyone else seen this when doing `dotnet restore` with VS 17.12.1 and 9.0.100 sdk?

Thansk for replying :) I've got a PR (#2070) 'Adds Depth to FetchOptions allowing for shallow cloning' that could need some feedback or eventually be completed if it looks good. But I guess everyone is bussy with life these days, and thats fine too :)
