Great thread by @ipanalysis.bsky.social on AI and qualitative analysis (and other things). I remain completely baffled about the enthusiasm for using AI to do qualitative analysis and (reflexive) TA specifically... not least because it is profoundly unethical, exploitative, eco disaster technology

For those of you who don't know, DMU is currently proposing mass redundancies, with nearly 100 academic staff 'at risk', sadly including me. It is absolutely brutal.

Trans communities are devastated by today’s ruling. Instead of bringing clarity, the Supreme Court has made a ruling which appears to contain a number of contradictions. The intent seems clear: to exclude trans people from society.

Statement on the Importance of Sexuality and Gender Research

My grants were terminated.

Each chapter will provide unique, field-specific insights and approaches to implementing queer pedagogy, reinforcing the book’s multidisciplinary focus.

It will feature transformative practices, case studies, and practical strategies to challenge established norms, enhance teaching methods, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Queering the Curriculum in HE aims to serve as a multidisciplinary guide to LGBTQ+ inclusive pedagogy in higher education, encompassing the Humanities, STEM, and Social Sciences, contributed by academics teaching in these fields.

This volume will be a part of their LGBTQ+ Education series, edited by @dradambrett.bsky.social and @profcatherinelee.bsky.social

I am excited to announce that I will be editing a collection titled “Queering the Curriculum in HE: Multidisciplinary Perspectives and Best Practices for Transformative Queer Pedagogy,” published by Emerald Publishing, due in April 2026.

I'm looking for teachers of languages other than English who would like to participate in a online professional community April 1-May 6 focused on deepening our understandings of gender-just language pedagogies and collaboratively creating open educational resources in the languages we teach, with support from researchers in trans applied linguistics and trans/nonbinary language experts. There is no cost to participate and 20 educators who take part in the learning community, create 1 or more OER to share, and take an exit survey will receive $100. Do you qualify? 1.
