- Plant a vegetable garden to feed yourself + community.
- Buy land for future family/communal housing.

My initial thought … food costs more than I realized … helpful for understanding why many families have #foodinsecurity … food costs less in places I thought would be higher than where I live … almost everywhere is green!

4/ Keep the thermostat at a set temp so it goes off and on as needed, and wear an extra layer, socks, etc at home. (In my old home we used to close off and not use rooms where the temp was hard to regulate.)

3/ If cold at night, invest in a quality flannel fitted sheet and sleep with the thermostat on a lower setting.

2/ Using a slow cooker is the most cost-efficient method of cooking (use: less than 200w). Next is a convection oven. Then the stovetop (1000-3000w). Turning on the oven uses twice as much energy as the stovetop! So using a slow cooker 3x/wk can save over a month’s time.
