Trump administration suddenly cuts $3.3M grant supporting career education in the Anchorage School District A letter from the U.S. Department of Education told the district that “continuation of this program is not in the best interest of the federal government.”

Budget cuts like these are exactly why we are facing alarming rates of outmigration. This funding was used by the Anchorage School District to increase graduation rates by giving students access to career and technical education.

Absolutely unacceptable.

Alaska lost a champion recently, Sen. Judy Salo – a champion for equal rights, education, democratic values, and basic kindness.
