Kiseki renaissance arc might be in trouble...

I was kinda tempted to start Daybreak last week but I'm saving my JRPG strength for DQ at the moment. I do wanna keep the kiseki renaissance momentum going though

Can't wait for when we actually get Galaxy 3 to tie into the new slop movie but the monkey's paw curls and they made it open world with monthly randomly generated challenges you compete for high scores in online

I'm not insinuating anything about SGG here, but it feels like they accidentally wrote a pro-totalitarianism story which just sits a bit awkwardly in today's political climate, and it's odd that they didn't seem to realize how it comes off. Not sure if the game was just rushed out of early access.

Hades 2 might have been more fun than Hades in the moment, but man, the more time passes and the more I reflect on the story, the more I can't help but feel it's a much worse game. I don't even think Hades 1 had a very good story, but 2's is the kind that leaves a bad taste as it continues to simmer

I'm an avid hater of MMX. It's funny because I like Classic and Zero but I genuinely can't stand X. What can I say? I just don't like the cut of its jib

Yeah as good as Astro Bot was no game is worth $800. It would put my mind at ease if they would just port it to PC. It's kind of funny that they port all the GOTY bait "mature" Sony games I don't care about but refuse to port the one PS5 game I genuinely loved.

Yes, it's ironic that a game clearly inspired by JRPGs and made with love and reverence for the genre got co-opted by all the insufferable "heh, JRPGs are such a silly immature genre for people who refuse to grow up" types that were so prevalent in the 2000s and 2010s.

Yeah you're right, 7 is definitely the one people are thinking of most of the time when they say "the GBA games." I do also think 8 is quite good personally. There's not really anything that stands out about it, but it's a really polished and consistent FE experience.

Nah I think that largely just refers to 7 and 8. 6 is just kinda there. The only thing that really stands out about 6 is that it's brutally hard on hard mode. Speaking of hard mode, I recommend grabbing a save for FE7 so you can play hard mode from the beginning. It's a very easy game otherwise.

FE6 is one of the weakest games in the series to me. After the shift from Kaga FE they didn't really find their footing for the new direction until 7 imo. 6 is still a solid foundation but there's just not a lot to latch onto. In 7 support convos, boss convos, cutscenes, etc. all get a lot better

The ability to flee from all non-story encounters in the FFT remaster is such a game changer. Being forced into filler battles when you didn't want to really hampered the game's pacing before. Makes it so much easier to go around to different towns looking for equipment, too.

I'm really looking forward to the remakes of DQI and DQII. It seems like they're adding a lot of substantial content that'll make the games feel very different. Both those games are rather threadbare so I think they're a good fit for "reimagining" style remakes. I'm curious to see how it'll pan out.

I didn't even watch it but everything I saw of it made it seem frighteningly insipid. I feel like it's mostly for kids into Nintendo who just think seeing a full, properly produced Mario CG movie is cool no matter what (and also for diehard adult Nintendo fans who are of a similar mentality).

Main reason I even bother complaining about it is because now I'll have to wonder if teasers and other stuff like this are actually gonna lead to anything that matters (game announcements) or just movie shit I don't care about. Just an unnecessary annoyance.

At the risk of sounding like a stick in the mud, I really don't care about Nintendo movies. Nintendo always has and always will be a games company to me. Just announce games, man.

Yeah I haven't been hearing particularly great things about it. Nothing to make it feel different from Sushi and mid story is what I'm hearing

I do hope SGG leaves Hades and roguelites behind now, though. As fun as they are, the Hades duology is definitely my least favorite of their offerings. I find that the roguelite format is just incompatible with tight storytelling and character writing, which used to be one SGG's greatest strength.

I've already put in about 25 hours and had a lot of fun, so I can't complain I suppose, but I always hate when a game ends with "oh I'm bored so I guess I'll stop playing" instead of reaching the ending and closing the book on the experience in a satisfying manner.

Hades was a fun game, and Hades 2 is even better, but they share the same weakness for me. Once I've beaten a handful of runs and upgrades have started to slow down to such an extent that even the most minuscule upgrades now require grinding out 2-3 runs, I just get bored.

I have no idea what this bad part is, but I honestly don't think there's anything I could dislike more than the brainwashing gimmick they began trotting out constantly as of CS3, whether it was magic masks, the curse, or evil dance powers

Sonic Racing Crossworlds is really filling the void left by Mario Kart World being a disappointment. Already put 11 hours into it and I don't wanna stop. Game is pure kart racing fun
