Hallowed one—I call thy name,
Let darkness draw me to its flame.
My lips do yearn, my soul laid waste,
For the bitter thrill of the #creeper’s taste.
O shadowed love, grant me this sin,
And let me fall to thee again.

Dark poetess & author of murder, whimsy, and forbidden desires. Spinning shadows, seduction, and fierce truths into words that linger like a kiss—or a knife
Hallowed one—I call thy name,
Let darkness draw me to its flame.
My lips do yearn, my soul laid waste,
For the bitter thrill of the #creeper’s taste.
O shadowed love, grant me this sin,
And let me fall to thee again.

Beneath the lithosphere they creep,
Little beasts in shadows deep.
Waltzing through veils of night,
Hiding from sun's sharp light.
Your eyes betray a tale untold,
Darkness coiled in depths cold.
Yet whispers rise, a vow once sung,
Answer #yes on breathless tongue.

From stone that crumbled,
#Souvenirs I tore.
A beating heart held tight—
I craved you evermore.
Locked in the shadows,
For fear of despair,
I rot in my cage,
The ticking now bare.

It’s in my top 10! I actually had a friend ask me for book recs today and I mentioned this. Thankfully, he got it! It’s one of a kind. I wasn’t aware until like a year ago that Du Maurier actually wrote The Birds too!

We sway for angels' fleeting cries.
A phenomenon of shattered pleas,
Doves’ wings whisper through the trees.
As hail strikes hard on ashen clay,
Rejoice in ruin—come what may.

29.11.2024 18:22 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I’ve always been open minded and accepting of everyone. I enjoy and embrace the differences because in those we are able to learn and grow! But I do agree—many have become bogged down over time and no one caring that they become reclusive in a lot of ways. It’s so very sad.

29.11.2024 18:01 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes! And her short story, The Lottery is absolutely terrifying! Oh my gosh, Levin was a genius! All I’ve read of his is Rosemary’s Baby and The Stepford Wives! But he was also a true master!
29.11.2024 17:54 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0You are speaking my language! Ray Milland!!!!!! This is a favorite! I grew up watching Turner Classic Movies—Hitchcock’s ‘Shadow of a Doubt’ with Joseph Cotton is a favorite! That film noir style was a true art! Not sure if you’ve read it, but another Jackson novel worth reading…
29.11.2024 17:47 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The movie was superb! When the sister reaches for her sisters hand and then realizes she was asleep? Oh my gosh! I did watch the series, and I enjoyed it, but it strayed too far off of the novel for my liking! I enjoyed it as a stand alone but I felt they lost the magic of the original.

Ghosts of prayers through roses crept.
A door of light, a shadowed stain,
Marbles danced in falling rain.
Beneath a sky where mercury poured,
I knelt before my #home’s dark door.
There, in its arms, I long to stay,
And rest in the dark till my final day.

One of my favorite books that I have ever read is Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. From the opening line, “Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.” To the very last page is a gothic tale of love, ghosts, obsession. #readingcommunity

He called her near, a serpent’s trust.
She held her ground, a fragile fight,
On trembling knees in the forest’s night.
He caught her fall, their fates entwined—
Forever began where shadows bind.

#Validate me with your touch,
Where burning wants scream loud and deep.
A tapestry unraveled too much,
Angels fall as halos weep.
From shadows, tears begin to fall,
Take me slow—no rush at all.
Eternal bliss, I've always known,
In your arms, I am undone.

We really ought not to #complain—
Pink champagne coats tongues in vain.
Elixir born of risen sin,
Tempting hearts where faith has been.
It bleeds for us from tethered wings,
Crawls on ice as sorrow sings.
It haunts the hands of sacred touch—
For you, I shall die a thousand deaths.
