Four year olds are not too old for picture books. A beautiful book was turned down by someone in the shop yesterday due to the child being about to start school, and therefore "too old" for picture books.
Please don't force children to give up picture books too quickly.

Don't just write. Read books. Watch films. Look at paintings and sculpture. Play games. Go to plays. Listen to music. Think about how these things make you feel.
Making art is a two-way stream. To make art, you have to consume art.

This is your Black Friday reminder that actual book shops can't afford to discount like Amazon and supermarkets do. If you can, get full price books but also a full heart.

The books we call "children's books" are really books written for an audience that includes children, but excludes no-one. They are books for EVERYONE - and if you exclude them, you miss the most important books of all!
