You’re fighting with a position no one holds. The *only* thing being claimed is that a pro-LGBT government is preferable, all else being equal. It is the meme (that nowhere here agrees with) that claims both sides are the same (hence “all else being equal”)

You’re doing the thing that OP was addressing in her post: LGBTQ rights aren’t just going to drag brunches! Even if two administrations are equally bad in all other respects, whether LGBTQ people have rights is a question that in some cases is a matter of life and death.

The original meaning of the meme has the underlying claims that 1. Dem support is fake 2. Rhetorical support doesn’t matter. Both are transparently false, which is why the OP used her interpretation, one based on reality, where Dems are actually diverse and have beliefs.

That’s premised on the idea that there’s a significant group of people who say “Black Lives Matter” and support LGBTQ rights in a way that is totally false, which is a contradiction in terms when talking about a political party. Even if a party does nothing on policy, what they say has an impact.
