Rest assured: the City Council will fight tooth and nail to ensure that city workers are paid.

Yesterday, the City Council voted to request from the Louisiana Bond Commission the ability to pursue a payday loan amid our budget crisis.

Melody has transformed her personal journey through pain into one of purpose, faith, and advocacy. Melody even had the honor of being the keynote speaker for the 2025 Slidell Memorial Hospital Regional Cancer Center's Breast Cancer Awareness Day Ceremony.

Today, the @nolacitycouncil recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month by honoring survivors and their advocacy for other survivors in New Orleans. I had the pleasure of honoring Melody Martin, a dedicated public servant, lifelong educator, and proud breast and gynecologic cancer survivor.
