As y’all may recall, in 1st Mardi Gras video, I said we’re broke & enforcement was going to be spotty. Tried to remind people what about the rules and the Chads decided to Chad.
Once we’re out of the $RED this will pick up.
Sucks for #Parkways & #Sanitation though.
#ChadsSuck #MardiGrasKarma
Standstill isn’t a time thing, it’s an element and/or breakdown issue. We’ll take a look after the parades to see where the slowdown was for the after action next month
14.02.2026 19:20 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0So, let's talk about Mardi Gras. AGAIN.
From aggressive behavior to commercialized throws, I'm breaking down what the first weekend of Mardi Gras entailed, and what certain behaviors could mean for krewes further down the line.
As always, have a great Mardi Gras!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of The Ooze 35th Anniversary opens in theaters from March 13 - 19.
I’ve heard that, which is why we’re waiting on all the info before making determinations.
There is a lot of footage, NOPD accounts and bystanders stories to parse through.
I’d love to give a fuller hot take but being the Arbiter of Mardi Gras means I need to collect all the info first.
Riding in parades certainly is expensive but the City underwrites Mardi Gras (Police/Fire/EMS/Sanitation).
It is the responsibility of Krewe’s to make sure their riders aren’t assholes (drunken or otherwise) on our streets.
If they can’t, or won’t, address dangerous and shitty behavior we will.
I wasn’t there, so I’m collecting reports of people that were present.
We have a post mortem meeting after Mardi Gras (March) where we consider changes to the law and/or policy.
If the allegations are true (intentional injury NOPD & Bystanders with beads), the ordinances will need to be amended.
Catherine and I have been married for EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS! Our marriage has reached the age of majority and can vote while being drafted into military service!
Seriously, I’m incredibly grateful to be married to this wonderful and beautiful woman who makes every day the best-day-ever!
Interrupting your Mardi Gras to remind you that #OutsideTheBox it’s Election Day! Remember to perform your civic duty and GO VOTE! 💥

Cato Institute just nuked the lie. Immigrants have cut U.S. deficits by $14.5 TRILLION since 1994, slashing the national debt by a third.
All that “immigrants are bleeding us dry” noise? Absolute bullshit.

We are just over 2 months away from @ccc10k! 👟 I’ve been participating in the Crescent City Classic for years: first as a runner, then as a jogger, and finally in my current state as a walker. Join me on April 4th for the 48th Annual Crescent City Classic 🏃

In New Orleans, Black history is OUR history. Black New Orleanians have always been at the epicenter of what makes this city so special, and it’s our duty to keep this legacy alive. #BHM ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
Unfortunately the Council doesn’t “regulate” SWB beyond billing at the moment. The board controls them. But my understanding is that there will likely be legislation (at the state level) that might change that soon so that there can be more transparency when 1/2 of uptown floods.
01.02.2026 15:24 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0According to ENO was caused by “cold weather” issues with a substation. We will schedule a meeting with an after action report on all these cold weather/ wind outages to look into whether these were reliability or resilience related. (Reliability = ENO foreseeable equipment failure)

The administration is massively expanding surveillance for immigration enforcement. @rlevinsonwaldman.bsky.social asks: “Are we also going to expand it or wield it against U.S. citizens who are engaging in entirely lawful protest activity?”

We may be in the darkest timeline, but local organizations advocating for neighbors give me hope.

State officials really want you to comply with ICE and other immigration enforcement officials, but don't seem to care about ICE following our state masking laws.

But when committees responsible for overseeing airport construction contracts have not met in years, it raises real concerns.
It may be a new term, but the City Council is still asking the tough questions.
There are dozens across local government, and while they are often overlooked, they have a real impact on our daily lives. You might not think about entities like the New Orleans Aviation Board very often.
