When I was 15, I received the David Lynch award at film camp for making weird fucking movies. He was truly a hero and an inspiration to me.
16.01.2025 18:43 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0No. Trump's first FCC chair was Ajit Pai. The new one is Brendan Carr.
21.11.2024 07:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The Republicans in your life chose this hell. Drag them down. Make it unpleasant. Don't be nice.
21.11.2024 02:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The next Dem presidential nominee must be a milennial. They cannot take my vote in 2028 for granted. Democrats need to shape up, get strong and fight.

Today, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez proposed a new task for to look at electoral reforms which could break up the two party system in Congress, expand the number of House districts, and move the House to a form of proportional representation.
It's a very, very good idea.

20.11.2024 00:21 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Down voting every single link to Twitter I encounter on Reddit. You can too!
19.11.2024 01:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The law has no meaning except that which the Republicans create.
19.11.2024 21:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It means that unless we take them seriously and come up with an actionable plan, a lot of people are going to seriously suffer and this country is going to look very different. None of this sitting around shaking hands, smoothly transitioning, playing nice. Fuck all that.
19.11.2024 21:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You already said that. And you are wrong. It was highly consequential. We lost Row V. Wade. The president was granted immunity from prosecution. Federal regulation was completely hamstrung. This kind of gaslighting does us no good. We need to rise to meet the moment.
19.11.2024 20:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Dem establishment must be wholly, totally liquidated. 8 years of persistent, dangerous failure. 8 years of taking the high road and playing to the middle to no avail. They have to go, or the party will collapse.
19.11.2024 18:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0They won't call it that. They'll tie their words in knots and come up with some long winded explanation. There is nothing to stop them from doing this. There is no accountability. Republicans hold *all* the cards. All of our rights are temporary and are at their whims.

I'll take it. I hate this fucking country.

Trump's Supreme Court has also made a number of rulings subverting or undermining established precedent, and has bypassed typical legal protocol in some cases to do so. There are no longer any rules. We will scream at them "you can't do that" all day. They don't give a shit.
18.11.2024 22:38 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Fears mongered in 2016 were realized. Trump's FCC eliminated net neutrality rules. In term 1 he picked technically qualified people for his cabinet that ended up mitigating it. This time he is picking loyalists with no regard for the rules
Carr authored a widely available chapter on his FCC plans
This is a lesson Trump has learned from, and all of his appointments reflect that.
18.11.2024 22:31 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0what legal authority people do or do not have stopped mattering 8 years ago. I may have misunderstood the part about the licensing but Brendan Carr's chapter in project 2025 makes it clear they will stuff like this, it's hard to imagine any one really stopping them.
18.11.2024 20:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The hardest thing to stomach about the election is the unending frivolity in the response of his ostensible opposition. They have a specific, actionable series of plans.
We have platitudes, politeness, and melodrama.
Good work if true. But these accounts lie all the time.
18.11.2024 19:59 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ok we don't have to put "Breaking" before every little news item y'all it. It makes us look so frivolous
18.11.2024 19:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This is 100% about the FCC pick. NBC is about to lose their broadcasting license if they don't change their tone
18.11.2024 19:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0With that FCC pick, this sort of thing is about to get 1000 times worse. Not enough people talking about how consequential that will be. One consequence is that this is our last opportunity to really talk about it
18.11.2024 18:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Trump FCC pick is *by far* the most dangerous thing he's come up with yet. *This* is the death of the First Amendment.
BlueSky will look like Twitter in under a year. TV channels will praise Trump or lose their licenses.
Unbelievable. We must stop this nonsense, or we will never win. The DNC will straight up disband and dissolve on this path.

Hopefully we can stop the Republicans with a combination of politeness, aphorisms, and doomed lawsuits, this time
