I want healthcare, UBI, free education, reparations, all of it. I’m also a realist. We won’t get there overnight. The far left demands moral purity, the moderates blame progressives for every loss. We need to stop treating compromise like betrayal and start treating unity like survival.

The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

We were able to go on our first hike of the season here in Ohio. It was a bit wet, but it was nice to be out for a bit.

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.
