i was told to erase it a week later because of fears i’d cause division in the church. i was not fond of church to say the least, but later found sanctuary in the political Jesus, and Black religious liberationists, who affirmed my imagination, gave me language, and taught me to pray with my feet ✊🏿
30.07.2025 12:27 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0when I was 11, or 12 i drew a Black Power fist on the wall of my sunday school classroom in response to something i was feeling. i couldn’t describe what it was, but felt i had to do something to affirm myself. this was a multiracial/cultural church with primarily white leadership.

i hope all the well-intentioned people in that church get free from a white-racist god.
I sincerely hope that these examples shine a greater light on the utter depravity of how US jails and prisons operate OVERALL. Because I've traveled miles to see incarcerated people and been REFUSED for no reason AT ALL. This happens A LOT.
