βExclusive: Trump Administration Appears to Launch βAlien Enemies Actβ Deportation Program
Also @aclu.org and @democracyforward.org filed suit in early hours of Saturday morning,
This is one of the most chilling letters I've ever seen on government letterhead. It's an attempt to coerce Columbia into adopting the government's vision of academic life and speech.

USCIS is proposing to extend social media disclosure requirements adopted by the State Depβt in 2019 to millions more applicants for immigration benefits each year:

President Trump's attempted purge of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board will bring the board's critical work to an immediate halt and will put all of our privacy rights at risk.
If he is serious about his commitment to rein in surveillance abuses, he must reverse course.
This is a big deal. The intel agencies have managed to protect this unconstitutional surveillance practice for more than a decade; it's long past time for the courts to put an end to it.
22.01.2025 16:15 β π 41 π 11 π¬ 1 π 0BREAKING: We're suing to stop the Trump administrationβs attempt to massively expand fast-tracked deportations without due process.
This policy was illegal when Trump enacted it in his first term and itβs illegal now.
BREAKING: A district court ruled that the FBI's use of Section 702 to conduct warrantless searches of a person's digital communications violates the Fourth Amendment.
This is a victory for our right to privacy from government spying.
Here's the key passage on page 52 of the new opinion:
22.01.2025 14:11 β π 24 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0The decision came in US v. Hasbajrami, where the defense has spent years challenging Section 702 surveillance.

BIG surveillance news: Late yesterday, in a long-awaited ruling, a district court in Brooklyn held that the FBIβs Section 702 queries violated the 4th Amendment.
This is a major constitutional ruling on one of the most abused provisions of FISA.
BREAKING: Weβre suing the Trump administration to block the presidentβs attempt to end birthright citizenship.
An executive order does not have the power to override the Constitution.
The Supreme Courtβs TikTok ruling is incredibly disappointingβallowing the government to shut down an entire platform and the free speech rights of so many based on fear-mongering and speculation.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court announced it won't stop the TikTok ban from going into effect on Sunday.
This decision gives the executive branch unprecedented power to silence speech it doesnβt like. Our leaders must immediately repeal this dangerous law and defend our First Amendment rights.

17.12.2024 21:20 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This afternoon we filed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to block enforcement of the TikTok banβthe law that would effectively force 170 million Americans off the platform on January 19, 2025.
We're asking the court to urgently intervene and protect Americans' right to free expression.
The D.C. Circuit's ruling upholding the TikTok ban sets a flawed and dangerous precedentβone that gives the government far too much power to silence Americansβ speech online.
