USCIS is proposing to extend social media disclosure requirements adopted by the State Dep’t in 2019 to millions more applicants for immigration benefits each year:

President Trump's attempted purge of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board will bring the board's critical work to an immediate halt and will put all of our privacy rights at risk.
If he is serious about his commitment to rein in surveillance abuses, he must reverse course.
This is a big deal. The intel agencies have managed to protect this unconstitutional surveillance practice for more than a decade; it's long past time for the courts to put an end to it.

This policy was illegal when Trump enacted it in his first term and it’s illegal now.
BREAKING: A district court ruled that the FBI's use of Section 702 to conduct warrantless searches of a person's digital communications violates the Fourth Amendment.
This is a victory for our right to privacy from government spying.

This afternoon we filed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to block enforcement of the TikTok ban—the law that would effectively force 170 million Americans off the platform on January 19, 2025.
We're asking the court to urgently intervene and protect Americans' right to free expression.
The D.C. Circuit's ruling upholding the TikTok ban sets a flawed and dangerous precedent—one that gives the government far too much power to silence Americans’ speech online.
