I think I made her mad.

It's a response to people writing off the hard work Beethoven put into writing over 700 compositions as simply being talented. Talent didn't hold his head to the piano to feel the vibrations once he was deaf. That takes a whole different kind of obsession.

I would say that rpg combat is on a spectrum between abstract and simulation. If you want to design a realistic simulation I would suggest looking into the Dune rpg and Honor+intrigue. I could use both of them to teach real combat theory.

I haven't officially started larp, but I have begun making friends with a local larp group to get more sword practice. I know that many of them have wanted to try Hema, and I suspect a few got into larping because there's no local Hema club.

I like Dune, but there's a problem in the fight scenes. Combat with Dune style shields should look less like modern knife fighting and more like destreza.

Well, my character died in DnD today, but I already know what my new one is going to be. My DM is allowing me to use a class from the Kinks and Cantrips supplement.

Some wood, and old phone tripod, and some duct tape has made a pretty decent cutting stand. I'll grab some fruit and test my edge alignment.

Weapons is a great movie, and there was more than once I thought I figured out what the reveal was going to be and was wrong. I think it's worth the watch, and more than that it's worth going in with minimal information.

Unfortunately, the group I expected to be at the campout wasn't able to make it, and I didn't get enough interest from others. I got a little sword play in, and taught the lesson I had planned to one newbie. It was a fun weekend, but less than what I hoped for.
