I didn’t mean to leaf you hanging.😅 Sorry I’ve been MIA lupus has been kicking my butt (& my kidneys, heart, & joints). I’m wrapped up in hope and ready to try moving again. The battered tree outside my window is sprouting new leaves and flowers so I can release this leaf saved from last season. 🍃🍂

Gulls perch on the stumps of an old pier and fishing boats are moored behind. As the sun begins to rise, the smooth sea is pale blue and the sky has a pinkish purple hue against the silhouettes.

Day 1 of #Capypril2025 Fun!
#Watercolor #ArtYear
Lambs frolicking in the field with the joy of living, spring, growth, and limbs that work seems the best of fun.
Making art and appeasing the green owl are the only things I can do right now.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Every six months a friend takes me out to the coast to see sky. 😂

Pencil sketch of a falcon’s head and shoulders.
Day 29- Hook #Sketch #MakersmARTch #Pencil
How about the hook(ed) beak of this falcon? I’m studying books and videos by John Muir Laws on sketching birds. I want to improve my eye and my speed so I can capture the birds that visit me each day.
Watercolor painting of a hedgehog by the side of a fence in a pile of green and yellow leaves. Its quills have stabbed one golden leaf which is stuck on the back of the critter.
Day 25-Stab #MakersmARTch
#Watercolor #Art
I’m running a bit behind. Life keeps life-ing, but sometimes my body doesn’t body. I feel like a hedgehog but all my spines are pointing inward. 😣Here’s a little hedgehog 🦔 whose body has taken a stab at a golden leaf.

Another blast from the past. This prompt from a 30 day challenge in 2016, Draw Something Mythical, seemed perfect for this prompt too. Meet Big Foot, Caught in a Private Moment.

It’s a challenge for me to paint loose. My art came out of me trying to control something in my life. My new goal is to trust and let go of that hard won control. Here is my attempt to capture the waterfall spray without touching it.

Day 20-Print #MakersmARTch #Art
Look what I found! In the dusty spiderweb festooned corner of the garage I unearthed an old portfolio from my school days. Here is a print from my printmaking class. I remember bleeding a lot during this class. I’m glad the linoleum isn’t as hard to carve nowadays.
Imprint of bird wing feathers in the snow.
Wing print in the snow. This most commonly happens when a raptor drops down to catch or attempt to catch a critter for a meal. I had to dig back to a photo from 2018 for today.

Day 18- Glass #MakersmARTch #Watercolor #Art
Stained glass-ish. It is raining and all my joints hate me. It is embarrassing how long it took me to do this picture but making straight-ish lines and creating some kind of order feels good even if my hands are shaking. Maybe because they are shaking.
Anyone recall these mini Wheaton glass bottles? When I was a kid, my dad placed them in all the windows of our house and I remember how excited I would get to see the sun come through them and shine all the colors on the walls in the early evening.

I started this in the waiting room at the dentist’s office and finished it at home. I figured one of my small notebooks would be good for this one. A wee bit of green for St. Patrick and a clean check up for me. 😁🦷✨
Watercolor painting of trees, growing up around a sculpture from antiquity. It’s an ancient stone head with a glowing ruby in the center of its forehead. The scene might depict the ruins of an ancient East Asian civilization, somewhere.
Day 15- Sculpt #Art #MakersmARTch #Watercolor
You know the saying “Do it scared”? Posting here I often have to “Do it frustrated”. There are scenes from a dream I keep trying to paint and I can’t seem to get them right. I will keep trying though and post even if I’m mad, frustrated, or scared.
