Two panel comic. Panel 1: podcast interview setup. The interviewer talks to the guest off panel. He says, “on your last album, you said you ‘came from the mud.’ Isn’t your dad a film producer?” Panel 2: the guest, a mudskipper takes his it’s headphones off and says “this interview is over.”

I don't think people realize that you're not supposed to root for Plankton. He's meant to be an example of how you SHOULDN'T try to steal the secret formula for the Krabby Patty. He's a cautionary tale, not a role model.

comic:

when it happens I hope people ring bells and blow horns.

if I'm asleep I hope to be woken. I won't mind.

if I'm in traffic I hope to see revelers. If it causes a traffic jam I won't mind.

I don't want to exist a moment not knowing that it has happened.

best recommendations for pictures to submit are close ups (bust/face), strong expressions and strong lighting. i can help choose if you have multiple pics or want guidance in taking one :^}

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Grok Can't Apologize. Grok Isn't Sentient. So Why Do Headlines Keep Saying It Did? Elon Musk’s chatbot has been “undressing” women and children in public. Journalists are letting xAI off the hook by pretending the bot is responsible.

I wrote about Grok's CSAM problem and how journalists keep fumbling the story
