It just seems unacceptable what they have done to the Gorn, especially if they truly are supposed to be TOS

5/6 But SNW has made the Gorn truly evil and so far, no redeeming qualities. Even how they reproduce is wildly out there. They could have created a new species but they *chose* the Gorn. A *lizard* species to be this super villain. When so often the villain in Star Trek is humans (rightfully so)

4/6 But SNW has completely altered the Gorn. Even if they said they were an AU of TOS, what they have done is unacceptable. There is no species in Star Trek that is completely evil. Over & over Star Trek shows compassion and empathy. It’s shows that we cannot hate an entire group of people

3/6 Did he offer mercy and say diplomats can talk. The Gorn are not evil, they are not thoughtless beings. They are capable of communication and reasoning. This episode was about showing how the Federation (humans) can be in the wrong when colonizing other peoples land, which mirrors our own world

2/6 Killed the people. It was because that was their home and the federation (humans) invaded. The Gorn even offered Jim a merciful and quick death. Even after learning the truth, Jim attacks. When the Gorn is speaking (even if a lie), Jim does keep making his weapon. Only after Jim has clearly won

Why the Gorn in SNW is the antithesis to Star Trek as whole

SNW has Lots of issues from continuity to just plain bad writing at times, but the Gorn and how they are portrayed is the worst

In TOS the Gorn are shown once, and only one individual Gorn is ever seen. And it is explained why they 1/6
